Free Dayforce ATS Resume Checker
Score your resume against how Dayforce reads it — parsing, keywords, sections and formatting — in under 60 seconds. Free, no account.
Dayforce, formerly Ceridian, is an HR and payroll suite with recruiting built in, common at mid-size and large employers in the US, Canada and beyond. Its application can be filled from your resume or your LinkedIn profile, and some employers switch on AI that gives every applicant a letter grade.
Your resume has a solid foundation but is missing several key ATS optimizations. Better keyword alignment and measured results will meaningfully boost your score.
Missing quantified achievements: most bullets describe responsibilities, not results
Low keyword density for common industry terms in the target role
Clear chronological work history with start and end dates
The difference
What Dayforce does differently
Mid-size and large employers that already run Dayforce for HR and payroll, many of them in retail, hospitality, healthcare and manufacturing.
How to tell it's Dayforce: The careers address is jobs.dayforcehcm.com, followed by the company's own code and CANDIDATEPORTAL.
- Upload a resume where you can, rather than typing your history in. The parser collects everything in the file, including sections the form never asks about.
- A new upload replaces the old one, so fix the file and upload again instead of patching fields one by one.
- Spell out skills, job titles, certifications and languages in plain text. Recruiters' candidate matching is a keyword search across exactly those things.
- Apply to one posting per job. If the same job is advertised twice, applying to one marks the others as already applied.
- Leave time for the extras: most applications include compliance questionnaires, and some require an assessment before you can submit.
The honest version
No tool, including this one, can see inside Dayforce's software or predict a specific employer's configuration. What a checker can do — and what this one does — is read your resume the way any parser must, and tell you what it could not extract. That is where nearly every avoidable rejection comes from.

What Dayforce says, in its own words
- Resumes and cover letters can be up to 5 MB and other documents up to 20 MB. Uploading a new version overwrites the previous one. [1]
- Depending on the employer, you can apply without registering, from your Dayforce profile, with LinkedIn, or with SEEK. [1]
- After you submit, data from your application, resume and LinkedIn profile is parsed into a candidate profile, indexed and added to the search engine recruiters use. [1]
- You can apply to only one posting per job requisition unless the posting is set up for reapplying; the employer's other postings for that job show "You have already applied". [1]
- Where the employer has turned it on, Dayforce uses AI to give external applicants a letter grade, partly based on the job description. When there is no resume or profile information to work from, it shows that the candidate could not be graded. Grades are not shown for candidates who live in New York City, to comply with local law. [2]
- Recruiters can match candidates to a job with a keyword search of candidate profiles, weighted across criteria such as skills, education, job titles, industries, languages, certifications and management level. [3]
- Dayforce recommends that employers require a resume upload, so its parser can collect every qualification listed in the resume. [4]
