What Greenhouse does differently
Widespread in tech and high-growth companies — the job boards at Airbnb, Stripe-scale startups and thousands of smaller firms are Greenhouse-hosted.
- Greenhouse does not auto-reject, auto-score or rank applicants. Its own documentation is explicit that resumes are read by people; the software organises them.
- It does parse your resume for search, so a recruiter looking for a skill will only find you if that skill is extractable text.
- Because a human reads it, readability counts for more here than in enterprise systems — but it must still be selectable text, not a scanned image.
- The application form's own fields (LinkedIn URL, portfolio, work authorisation) are frequently used as filters. Filling them in matters as much as the resume.
- Custom questions attached to the posting are often the real screen. Answer them specifically rather than pointing at the resume.
The honest version
