Greenhouse is the system behind a large share of startup and tech-company job boards: the clean, single-page application with a drag-and-drop resume field. Comment reconnaître Greenhouse : The application address is on greenhouse.io, usually boards.greenhouse.io or job-boards.greenhouse.io.
- Greenhouse parses your resume so recruiters can search it, so a skill only helps you if it is extractable text.
- A person usually reads the resume, so readability counts for more here than in enterprise systems. It still has to be selectable text, not a scan.
- The form's own fields (LinkedIn URL, portfolio, work authorisation) are often what recruiters filter on. Fill them in even when the resume says the same thing.
- Custom questions attached to the posting are often the real screen. Answer them specifically rather than pointing at your resume.

- Greenhouse accepts resumes and cover letters as .doc, .docx, .pdf, .rtf or .txt files. [1]
- Greenhouse lists three reasons a resume fails to import: it contains too little information, it is in a non-standard file type, or it contains characters the parser does not recognise. [2]
- "Greenhouse never uses AI to rate candidates or auto-reject applications." Greenhouse adds that some other companies' tools do. [3]
- Recruiters can set rules that auto-reject or auto-advance an application. Greenhouse's example is answering "no" to a question about being legally allowed to work in the country. It says over 50% of roles send an email when an application is auto-rejected. [4]
- Greenhouse says that, by and large, applications are reviewed by people, one by one, in the order received. [4]
