Free Ashby ATS Resume Checker
Score your resume against how Ashby reads it — parsing, keywords, sections and formatting — in under 60 seconds. Free, no account.
Ashby is the system behind many startup and tech-company job boards, especially newer, fast-growing ones. Its application forms are short, but behind them recruiters can run AI-assisted review, which checks every resume against criteria they wrote and cites the lines it relied on.
Your resume has a solid foundation but is missing several key ATS optimizations. Better keyword alignment and measured results will meaningfully boost your score.
Missing quantified achievements: most bullets describe responsibilities, not results
Low keyword density for common industry terms in the target role
Clear chronological work history with start and end dates
The difference
What Ashby does differently
Popular with venture-backed startups and tech scale-ups, and growing quickly in that market.
How to tell it's Ashby: The job board address is jobs.ashbyhq.com followed by the company's name.
- Ashby's AI review looks for evidence of each criterion in your resume, so state the evidence in plain words. "Built and ran a Python data pipeline" can be matched; "data wizard" cannot.
- Keep the resume a text-based PDF or DOCX. If the AI cannot read your resume, Ashby marks the criteria as skipped, which leaves the recruiter nothing in your favour.
- Answer location and work-authorisation questions precisely. Rules on those answers can reject you the moment you submit.
- Fill in the LinkedIn field, and make sure your LinkedIn agrees with the resume on titles and dates. Ashby copies it straight into your profile.
The honest version
No tool, including this one, can see inside Ashby's software or predict a specific employer's configuration. What a checker can do — and what this one does — is read your resume the way any parser must, and tell you what it could not extract. That is where nearly every avoidable rejection comes from.

What Ashby says, in its own words
- Resume uploads can be up to 50MB, but a resume must be 16MB or smaller to be processed for full-text search and to auto-fill application fields. [1]
- A LinkedIn URL answered on the application form is filled into the candidate's profile automatically. [1]
- Recruiters can set auto-reject rules on application answers, for example rejecting candidates located outside a target area. The rules run only at the moment you submit, and the employer can delay the rejection email by a set number of business days. [2]
- With AI-Assisted Application Review, launched in September 2024, recruiters define criteria and the AI labels each applicant "Meets" or "Does not Meet" for each one, citing the resume. If it cannot decide, the criterion is marked unknown; if the resume is unreadable, it is marked skipped. [3]
- Ashby says personal information is redacted before resumes are sent to AI models, and that people on the hiring team make the advance or reject decision. [3]
